PANDORA'S VOX was founded in 1989 by Director Gillian Hunt. The society is dedicated to contributing to the cultural life of the community and to sharing its enjoyment and enthusiasm for music and the performing arts. In September of 2002 ESPIRITU VOCAL ENSEMBLE, a 40 voice mixed ensemble was formed under the society umbrella. This talented ensemble pursues musical excellence in a variety of styles.
Founder/Director Gillian Hunt is a graduate of the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music and has developed a unique approach to choral conducting that fully engages and amuses her singers. Gillian has worked both as a classical soloist and a jazz performer and brings a thorough knowledge of vocal technique to all her endeavors.
With a flair for the theatrical, a perfectionist approach to technique and unusual programming, Gillian has enabled PANDORA'S VOX and ESPIRITU to become widely applauded players in the Vancouver music scene.
We are THRILLED to announce that Gillian Hunt is the 2009 recipient of the Amy Ferguson Award presented to her by the BC Choral Federation in recognition of her outstanding contribution to choral music in British Columbia.
